What year is it as per Hindu Calendar?

Answer by Raakhee Venugopal:

Thank you for the A2A.
For the record, there are many ‘Hindu Calendars’ in use, of which the most prominent ones are the Nepali calendar, Punjabi calendar, Bengali calendar, Odia calendar, Malayalam calendar,Kannada panchangam,Tulu calendar, Tamil calendar, Vikrama Samvat used in Northern India, and Shalivahana calendar in the Deccan States of Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. Each of these have their own numbering systems. For example, in Kerala, the current kolla varsham is 1191. It differs from calendar to calendar.
As Ghanashyam Chakravarthi rightly pointed out, if you are however referring to the Samvatsaras, then it is Manmatha right now and we will be moving into Durmukhi post April 2016.
