A regular saree is 6-7 yards long, whereas a Nauvari is 9.
So can this be draped using the regular way as well?

Thank you for the A2A.
Though I have no personal experience of having worn the nauvvari, I’d like to compare it with the Tam-Brahm madisaar which is also of a similar length.
If the question is can it be worn like a normal saree, the answer is yes. It is just like an extra long saree. The impossibility factor comes only if the length is way too less. The only difference would be that there would be a lot of pleats in the front and with my frame, if I were to wear a nauvvari or a madisaar like a normal saree, I’d look like I’m sporting a Victorian era ball gown than a saree 😛
Umm….nope. Won’t go there!
