Thank you for the A2A.
People idolize and revere other people based on different parameters. Some for their looks, some for their achievements, and some for the simple fact that they are actually one of us who made it big in ‘America’. So I don’t want to generalize as people I look up to may not be so worthy from the viewpoint of other people. I’ll just speak for myself here.
Sundar Pichai…for making me believe that with the right amount of dedication, reaching the post of CEO of one the world’s biggest corporate giants doesn’t require a salt ’n’ pepper head and 50 years of work experience 🙂
Satya Nadella…for making me believe that one doesn’t really need to be an IIT alumnus to reach where he did in the corporate world ^_^
Indra Nooyi…for making me believe that a woman can be equally successful in the corporate world as well as in her own home.
Nina Davuluri…for braving against racist stereotyping and keeping that brilliant smile on despite all the hate she faced.
Kalpana Chawla…for making me believe that one should never stop chasing one’s dreams, even if it means dying while trying :’)
Salman ‘Sal’ Khan…for making me believe that education can, after all, be fun!
Jhumpa Lahiri…for ‘The Namesake’. It ended up being one of the books that changed me as a person.
