Would you believe it if I were to tell you that it all probably is? Okay, maybe not the sharp specifics. But in a broad way, it probably is.
In the quaint town of Vaitheeswaran Koil in Tamil Nadu, India, the practice of palm leaf astrology or Nadi (pronounced naa-di) astrology is still rife. It is believed as per their theory that the past, present and the future lives of all humans were foreseen by Hindu sages in ancient times. I don’t exactly vouch for it, but I won’t completely rule it off either. If you’re interested, you could read about it here →
Although the locals and many people from nearby areas swear by it, there are (as always) skeptics who call such things stupid and baseless. I know of one such lady who accompanied her very devout friend to one of the Nadi astrologers. They were from Kerala, my state. This was their first time to Vaitheeswaran Koil and the lady had been meaning to visit the place since ages. So they visited one of the astrologers at random (there are nadi astrologers all over the place as it is largely a family occupation) and he made his predictions for the lady who had visited him. The skeptical friend looked on in amusement and on a whim, she asked him to check her fortunes too. He looked over her charts and told her grimly that she will live only for a couple of months. I think he told her the approximate date of death too. She thanked him, paid the fees (which he refused, because he had said something unpleasant), came outside and laughed like anything at the worried face of her friend.
She died at the same time that he predicted that she would. It was a cardiac arrest. She was just 35 and in good health.
Do we have an explanation for this? No.
This is but one of the many many cases that I have heard about. And it’s not just death. They predict so many things with such scary accuracy that you can’t help but believe in it. It’s a wonder how things just pan out exactly as they predicted that it would. I have never attended a session myself as I am too terrified to do so. It is said that they can tell you about your past life as well as what is in store for you ahead. I don’t think I have the guts to hear that. Nope.
