Students of the University of Madras while studying late nights, used to tie their hair to a nail on the wall behind them to keep them up. The above picture was clicked in 1948. Notice that the chair has had its backrest and armrests removed.


Baby cages to give some fresh air to babies. Can anyone think of doing something like this for their little ones now? I think not. Eeks!


Women gather at a party in Mumbai ( Bombay ) in 1910. Look at the grand lifestyle they led back then. Amazing is an understatement.
